Yvonne is married to Neil and they have two children. Before joining our parishes as assistant curate in June 2008, she trained at St John's theological college in Nottingham.   Yvonne has previously worked as a training support worker at St George's Crypt in Leeds, and a self employed counsellor, whilst also volunteering as a hospital chaplaincy visitor at the Leeds General Infirmary.

Barry Newsam has been a Reader for more than 20 years, initially in the Diocese of Chelmsford and, since 1992, in our group of churches.  He is an Organic Chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and for 29 years was concerned with protecting the inventions of the Glaxo Group of companies, latterly as Patents/Intellectual Property Manager. His wife, Jean, died over 13 years ago (from Multiple Sclerosis); he is close to his (adult) children, Robin and Karen.

Neil is one of our Lay Readers, licensed in October 2007. He is married to Karen and they have two grown up boys. Neil spent 13 years in the Army and 18 years in Industry; during the last 17 years he played an active role within the Church at Middleham. 

After a career in the City of London as a Foreign Exchange dealer, David and his wife Gwen moved to Muker in Swaledale, where they ran the Village Store and Tea Shop for 17 years. After retiring he joined Middleham Church and started training as a Church of England Reader. He was licensed as a Reader in October 2008.
